Saline Breast Implants
Saline implants have a silicone shell filled with a saline solution (sterile saltwater). Saline implants are popular because they provide a realistic breast feel. What are my implant placement options?
Submuscular Placement
In this placement, implants are placed below the pectoral muscles if minimum breast tissue is present. The implant will act as a breast mound to project the natural tissue.
Subglandular Placement

What are my incision options?
Periareolar Incision
This incision makes circular patterns around the areola and along its natural border.
Inframammary Incision
This incision is created along the natural fold under the breasts.
Transaxillary Incision
This incision is made along the armpits. An endoscope will be used along with small instruments to guide implants to the breasts.
Being prepared is essential to the success of your procedure. Dr. Tehrani will provide instructions on preparing for your procedure and recovery period.
You’ll need to fill prescriptions and obtain other recovery materials. Someone will need to drive you to your appointment and take you home as well. Dr. Tehrani recommends having someone stay with you the first night of your recovery.
You’ll need to stop smoking and taking antihistamines, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatories a few weeks before the surgery date. Twelve hours before your surgery, you’ll need to fast from everything except water. We suggest arriving at your appointment a few minutes early to help ensure you have a relaxing morning.

Fat Transfer to the Breasts

Your recovery is an important part of your journey. You’ll be given oral painkillers and long-acting anesthesia to help you rest. You’ll be fitted with a surgical bra to support your implants – wear it as much as possible throughout your recovery. You’ll follow up with our team regularly to check your progress and ensure your results are emerging as intended. After one week, you can resume light activities and potentially even return to work. After 4-6 weeks, you can begin to return to intensive activities. Your full results can take six months or longer to emerge as the implants settle into place.
